Our Story

We are a fourth-generation owned and operated family woodworking business. Robert and Doreen Grigo got their start in the woodworking industry working for Robert’s father in Queens. There Robert worked under his father refining his skills in kitchen & bath design and woodworking. Doreen managed the company’s booking keeping and office. Once Robert and Doreen started their family they decided they wanted to come out to the Hamptons and bring the family trade with them. At the start, Robert and Doreen were joined by Robert’s brother Herby managing and operating Central Kitchens.

In 1994, Robert and Doreen’s eldest son Kurt joined the family business following his father’s footsteps. Under his father, he learned and refined his design skills, woodworking and cabinet making skills, as well as managing customer jobs and employees. In 2010, he became the General Manager and Senior Designer of Central Kitchens.

In 2000, Robert & Doreen’s second son, William, joined the team working part-time while he attended law school. In 2004, after passing the NYS Bar, he become the legal advisor for Central Kitchens. Since 2008, William has been the Financial Manager for Central Kitchens.

In 2014, Robert & Doreen’s granddaughter Samantha joined the family business part-time while in High School. She started out as an administrative assistant. In 2016, once in college studying business administration and marketing, she began to work full-time as the bookkeeper for Central Kitchens. In 2021, she became the Office / Operations Manager of the family business.

In 2020, we mourned the loss of Robert Grigo leaving his legacy behind to his wife, sons, and granddaughter.
